Al Jazeera Children's Channel
Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (JCC) is an all-Arabic satellite television channel aimed at children aged 6 to 15 years old.
Launched in 2005, it broadcasts 18.5 hours a day on weekdays and 19 hours at weekends. Al Jazeera Children's Channel produces around 40 percent of its own programs - the highest proportion of any children's channel.
Educates, informs and entertains
The channel’s main objective is to enrich children’s lives with quality programming and multimedia content that educates, informs and entertains. It varies between debate shows, live interactive programs, competitions and games, news, sports and scientific magazine-style programs for a variety of age groups.
Taalam.TV - more than 100,000 student viewers
In January 2010, JCC launched Taalam.TV, the first Arabic Video On Demand (VOD) educational portal for schools and educators.
Taalam means “Learn” in Arabic. The portal brings to the classroom a rich database of educational material and videos generated from JCC programs. The aim is to make teaching more stimulating and engaging and to allow students to store, process and recall information more rapidly in a familiar context.
Taalam.TV is currently watched by more than 100,000 students in 178 schools across 28 countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Syria, France, Britain, USA and Canada.

- In 2011 JCC will launch ‘Al Tabaq Al Taer’ (Flying Saucer), a new program that encourages healthy eating with simple recipes and nutrition tips. JCC has collaborated with Fresh One, the UK production company made famous by Jamie Oliver. ‘Al Tabaq Al Taer’ is a lively cooking show that promotes and emphasizes the importance of a healthy and balanced diet.
