Qatar Foundation (QF) today welcomed H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdulatif Al-Fares, the Minister of Education and Higher Education of Kuwait, to Education City.
Dr. Al-Fares was in Qatar as a guest of QF’s Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and was welcomed to Qatar Foundation Headquarters by Eng. Saad Ebrahim Al-Muhannadi, lifetime member of the Board of Directors, QF; Dr. Ahmed Hasnah, President of HBKU; and Maryam Al-Mannai, Vice President of Student Affairs, HBKU.
Dr. Al-Fares’ visit follows a visit earlier this year to Kuwait by a senior QF delegation including Eng. Saad Ebrahim Al-Muhannadi and Dr. Ahmed Hasnah, with the aim of encouraging students in Kuwait to apply to HBKU and QF’s partner universities.
Commenting on the visit, Eng. Saad Ebrahim Al-Muhannadi said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr. Al-Fares to Education City.
This visit confirms the strong relationship and continuing cooperation that exists between our two countries. A delegation from QF visited Kuwait in January to enhance cultural exchange and raise academic standards for the mutual benefits of both our countries.”
During his visit, Dr. Al-Fares was given a comprehensive presentation of the full vision of Education City as a hub of academic excellence, housing a range of educational facilities, from QF schools to international partner universities and its homegrown institution, Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU).
Following the presentation, Dr. Al-Fares was taken to the open-air viewing platform on the eighth floor of QF HQ where he was shown the education and research buildings of Education City, and discussed future plans at Qatar Foundation.
Concluding the visit, Dr. Al-Fares signed Qatar Foundation’s Visitors Book to commemorate his visit to QF.
