• QF Radio launches specialist radio talk show
• Leading design specialists from Education City's Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar provide weekly insight to the world of design
• Qatar Foundation assisting the community to unlock its design and creativity potential

Doha, February 3- Qatar Foundation's pioneering radio station, QF Radio, launches tomorrow its latest radio talk show -Design Edition- a brand new weekly show that will focus on design-related matters, global trends in design and the ways that Education City's Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar) is helping to develop Qatar's design industry.

The 45 minute show will air every Thursday at 10:00am and is produced and hosted by Muneera Spence, Chair of the Graphic Design Department at VCUQatar, and Peter Martin, Associate Professor of the Graphic Design Department at VCUQatar.

"Exploring the concept of the show with my co-host Peter Martin has been an extraordinary experience. It is a pleasure to bring our experience with education and practice in Design together with our propensity to be interdisciplinary, culminating in the exploration of the power of design thinking and making," stated Muneera Spence.

Co-host Peter Martin also added, "I have enjoyed engaging in the effort to bring designers and non-designers to see the depth and relevance of design, designing and the designer."

Design Edition aims to create a general awareness of the challenges faced by societies and cultures and the impact design thinking and education has on forming meaningful and beneficial solutions.

The show will explore what the Qatari community thinks about some of the problems  they face and will propose the methodologies and systems experts might use to help solve some of them. This will include interviews and opinions of renowned personalities from the design realm.

Through the show, VCUQatar is hoping to stimulate the community to 'see' the design elements of everyday life. QF Radio and VCUQatar are leading the initiative to create quality outreach radio shows that will benefit the wider Qatari community.
